| Retroperfusion Systems, Inc. Costa Mesa, CA. 92718 The company product : A life saving cardiovascular medical device " The Retroperfusion System". It uses tiny balloon catheters and a computerized pump. During a heart operation to clear clogged coronary arteries ( angioplasty ) or right after a heart attack occurs : Oxygen enriched blood is pumped backward into the heart. The computer synchronizes the balloon catheter inflation and reverse blood flow to be timed between heart beats. This reverse flow allows the clot to be removed, oxygen to be delivered to the heart and a spot treatment with declotting agent ( rather than saturation ). |

| Development Electronic Technician From: Jan. 1987 to FEB. 1988 * I worked for 1 year, 2 months under contract. Medical Research and Development Electronic Technician: I assisted engineers in the development, construction, and production of cardiovascular medical devices. Highlight : * I was responsible for the accepted design of a new type of medical pump. Unlike the peristaltic pumps, this one was : compact, precisely controllable, increased flow capacity by 2.5 times, reduced most blood / pump damage and was a disposable product. The company patented the pump through their engineer, Stan Schaufman. Summary : I left the company on good terms as they were being sold to a company with manufacturing capability. |
