Due to the Toyota Tercel DEATH at 280k miles (begining
of the year)
I required a replacement commuter vehicle
(2 miles each way).

The Jeep:
The rebuild engine is proven to go for over 200k miles,
parts are cheap, I can do all the work.
It is a world-widee PROVEN multi-task vehicle.

Thus the saga of rebuild begins.
Here are just some of the upgrades,
repairs, mods to date:
YES: I DO ALL THE WORK MYSELF
I started with a bland no frills, beat to HECK offroader.
Replaced everything,
I started by replacing the front and rear brakes.

Then:
Oil sensors, power steering pump, fanclutch, battery,
rebuilt the entire fuelrail, idle air solenoid, serpentine belts, front
windshield (paid for that to be done),
all fluids in the front and rear differentials, trans, gearbox, engine
oil etc. etc, etc.

Replaced main computer and keept old as a EMI/Faraday caged
backup. Reworke all the main computer connector pins, custom
brackets, transmission mount, all new Rancho 9000 shocks,
weather seals, zinc coat underbody, etc. etc............
I added solar charger on the roof, made extended wheel
well flares, installed a new offroad front bumper,
installed a new offroad rear bumper with spare tire
swing-out, made a custom hood vent cowl,
I added a new rear drive shaft with heavyduty u-joint,
added missing new custom cut front driveshaft.

I replaced every single joint on the front end and did a
front and front to rear alignment. etc etc etc.
I converted the dash guages to white face to be easier
to see during the day.

I added a nice CB radio and custom CB sun cover.
Replaced the steering wheel horn button with billet and
new underhood horns.
Removed the roof headliner and replaced with high
temperature metal backed insulation.
Installed a Lund windshield Sunvisor,
etc etc..........
done more but just trying to get this page out as
promissed.
check back for updates later. : )
